Robert ‘Bob’ Thompson
PARK HILLS — Robert ‘Bob’ L. Thompson of Park Hills passed away August 30, 2009 at his residence at the age of 68 years. He was born March 25, 1941 in Esther to the late Lyda and Gertrude (Marler) Thompson. Also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie and Judy Thompson, who died in infancy, June Mead and Helen Swanguarim, one brother, Jim Thompson, mother-in-law, Oby Mills and father-in-law, Irvin Mills.
Bob was a devoted race fan at the St. Francois County Raceway, enjoyed fishing, hunting, lawn mowing and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Irma (Mills) Thompson of the home, his children, Rita (Dennis) Julius, Lori Sutton, and David (Megan) Thompson, all of Bonne Terre, Lisa Kinnard and Bobby (Lena) Thompson, both of Park Hills, and Jerry (Stephanie) Thompson of Desloge, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Glenda Mullins, Betty (Ned) Swanguarim, Ruby (Bob) Johnson and Janet (Lance) Wheelis, two brothers, Alfred ‘Bud’ (Katherine) Thompson and William (Geri) Thompson, nieces, nephews, cousins, his racing friends and other dear friends.
Family to receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at St. Francois Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at St. Francois Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Mills officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park. Memorials to Am.
