Cub-Arama Countdown… Two Weeks To Go!

September is already here and the countdown to JP’s 8th Midwest Cub-Arama has begun. Hopefully you have noticed the bright banners that are hanging on the new lamppost around the Court Square as well as down all  Main Streets.   Tomorrow marks two weeks until the set up day, but don’t be surprised to see trailers full of tractors rolling into town even earlier in the week.  Set up day is Thursday, September 24th  and the two full show days are Friday, September 25th  and Saturday, September 26th  .

This year’s show is looking to be another amazing event.  Just to give you a taste of what to expect, here are a few of this years highlights.

HUNDREDS of International Harvester/Farmall Cub and Cub Cadets from all over the U.S. and Canada.  Also, don’t forget that ANY IH item is welcome to the show this year in any running condition.

KIDDIE Tractor pull to take place on Saturday, September 26.

DEMONSTRATIONS will be through out the weekend, anything from field demonstrations to how to fix a minor problems on your tractor.

PARADE – great chance to see these wonderful tractors on the move. Saturday, September 29  (Full route and time will be in the next issue of the DN)  Also any group or business is welcome to join us with a float. Please call 783-7055 for details.  Also, plan now to come and WATCH the Parade of Power.  These people travel many miles to show off their tractors and it is truly a great site when they are lined up in a parade!!

VENDERS will be on hand with great selection of new and used IH Parts and other merchandise from toys to clothes and more.

SWAP MEET is a nice chance to sell or trade extra IH items you may have or get a great deal on someone else’s.

CITY WIDE YARD SALE, this 4th annual event is really catching on.  Plan your yard sales now.  Those who purchase a paid ad in the DN will be listed with a city map in the September 23rd  issue.  This is a great chance to get all the out of town tractor show people to stop and check out your bargains

TRACTOR CRUISES – will take off on both Friday and Saturday.  Friday will be a relaxing afternoon ride to Vance Vineyards to see the  lovely country side and with a stop for lunch.  Then Saturday morning join the tractors for a beautiful ride around Town with a pit stop at the local Farmers Market at Madison CO. Feed to check out local produce, community displays and sales!  Everyone is welcome to join the cruises with their IH tractors.  Trips last about an hour.

GAMES Fun adult tractor skill games.  Come participate or just observe (both are just as fun)

RAFFLES – Great chance to win nice items.  Cub Cadet mower, weed eater & trimmer also 50/50.  Proceeds are for show expenses.

CONCESSIONS will be onsite and all are provided by LOCAL organizations.  Delicious items at great prices.  All support is needed for show expenses. 

Keep an eye out in the DN over the next two weeks for  full schedule of events and parade route.  Mark you calendars now to come down to JC Park the last weekend of the month.  Last year there were near 250 tractors from 23 states and Canada  into our small community.
