Family Fun Day
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold Family Play Day Sept. 19 in St. Francois State Park. The event includes outdoor activities throughout the day, followed by a concert.
The park is on the east side of U.S. 67, north of Bonne Terre.
The free event begins at 1 p.m. in the ball field at the day-use area. Visitors to the park will receive a map of the area with different stations for each activity and may visit as many stations as they want. Activities will include creek exploration, Wiffle® ball and scavenger hunts. Naturalists will lead geocaching, fishing and bird watching activities at designated times. Participants will leave with many ideas on how to spend time outdoors together as a family.
Wild Heart will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. for a family-friendly concert in the campground. The Emmy award-winning group is known for educational songs about nature. Bring a lawn chair for the concert.
