Homeland Security to host expo
Region C Homeland Security, which is comprised of St. Francois, St. Genevieve, Washington, Perry Lincoln, Warren and Pike counties, will be hosting the first Regional Homeland Security Expo on Oct. 28 at the Farmington Community Civic Center. Public officials, first responders and the public are invited to attend the Exp from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This is a chance for people to view the response equipment funded through homeland security grants, interact with numerous emergency response disciples and learn more about Missouri’s homeland security regionalization program.
The St. Francois County Community Partnership serves on the Regional C Committee respresenting volunteer organizatons.
“This is an excellent opportunity for people to view the many pieces of equipment that have been purchased over the past three years to aid the region in the event of natural disasters or homeland security incidents. We are much better prepared to respond and meet the local needs than we were three years ago,” said Al Sullivan, executive directore of the partnership.
