Home Tour to be held Dec. 6
Tickets are on sale for the annual Holiday Home Tour from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 sponsored by the Farmington High School Senior Cheerleaders. Proceeds from the event go to the cheerleaders’ trip to appear in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Tickets cost $10 each and are available in advance at the Farmington High School Office or by called Marilyn Berry at 573-756-5181. Tickets will also be available for purchase during actual tour hours on Dec. 6 at each home on the tour. The $10 ticket will provide the tourist entrance to all of the six participating homes.
Four Farmington Knights Senior Cheerleaders are participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City. Abbi Berry, Lauren Brockmiller, Shelby Raper, and Riley Thurman made this trip together which will lasted from Nov. 21 until Nov. 27. Their plane departed St. Louis on Saturday morning for NYC. The girls will march and dance in the Macy’s Day Parade on Thanksgiving morning.

Kevin and Jill Fletcher
Kevin and Jill Fletcher ‘s home at 507 West College. Built in 1903 in the heart of Downtown Farmington, this elegant Victorian home’s exterior features a sweeping wrap-around porch and turret. An original watercolor painting by Shirley Murphree can be seen hanging in the entryway, showing the home as it looked when purchased by the Fletchers in 1995. On the main level you will find high ceilings, staircases in the entryway and kitchen, a spacious living room, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen, powder room, and sunroom. “Fort Fletcher” can be seen in the large, fenced backyard. The second floor features four bedrooms — each decorated to suit its occupant — and two full baths. The second-story floor plan was modified five years ago when a little-used sunroom was converted into a large bathroom and walk-in closet to complete the master suite. Currently, the third story of the home is being renovated to house a large great room especially suited to teenagers. It should be complete in the spring. Antiques have been mixed with traditional furniture throughout the home to create a comfortable “lived-in, loved-in” atmosphere.
Dr. Dennis and Sheryl Robinson
Nestled in 23 acres with a town and country mystic, the Robinson homestead was built in 1981 in a breathtaking setting. Over the years the three Robinson children, all FHS graduates, were raised in this home, enjoying rambunctious swim parties in their backyard pool and roaring bonfires in the nearby fields. Listen carefully for the sounds of their laughter still bouncing through the trees. In recent years the daughters were married in the beautiful perennial gardens surrounding the house. These daughters are FHS Macy’s Cheerleader alumni – Steph’Anniein 2001 and Claire in 2004. The sporting men of the family enjoy the abundance of fishing and wildlife in the rolling hills. The interior décor of this gracious home is a combination of antiques and rustic country living with a floral flair throughout. There is a southern air of hospitality to all who enter. We welcome you to “sit a spell”.
Rev. Alan and Marilyn Berry
During this Holiday Home Tour, Alan Berry will tickle the ivories of the family’s grand piano with Christmas classics. Built in 2001 in the picturesque Spring Brook Park subdivision, this 5 bedroom, 3 bath home is decked in holiday grandeur including a 12-foot great room Christmas tree and a 30 member Santa collection. The formal dining room is dressed for celebration with crystal, silver and china. Over the years, the hand carved cherry and beveled glass master table has welcomed friends and family to relax and dine. Antiques are displayed in each room of this home. The central staircase leads to the bedrooms of the two younger Berry children who supervised the decor. A second staircase leads to the home office. The descending staircase leads to the zebra bedroom of Macy’s Senior Cheerleader, Abbi Berry. This lower level family room is suited for sleepovers, movie viewing, foosball, and for enjoying our traditional Snow Village display.
Paul and Marlene Brockmiller
The Brockmiller home is in Holiday Park and was built by Paul’s company, Brockmiller Construction, in the fall of 1993. This three story Southern Living plan home has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. It has undergone several renovations and addition over the years, including a third garage, new dining area, and covered back porch. This outdoor living area also features a pool, hot tub, and pool house and fireplace sanctuary, complete with putting green. The first floor includes the master bedroom and bath, with a gas fireplace in the bedroom and heated tile floors in the bathroom. The third floor belongs to the three girls – with each bedroom showing their individual personalities. The family loves Christmas, and you will see that in every room of the house. Don’t miss the “Gator Room” in the basement – a shrine to Paul’s beloved Florida Gators. They have raised their family in this house, made wonderful friends in Farmington and created many, many memories here.
