MADISON, Illinois — Mrs. Zetta Lucille ‘Eaton’ Mell, 92, formerly of Farmington, passed away December 6, 2009, at the Gateway Regional Medical Center, in Granite City, Illinois. Zetta was born December 15, 1916, in Mississippi County, Missouri, and was the daughter of James Henry Eaton and Cora Radie ‘Kindred’ Eaton. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Glenwood Francis Mell (2002); three sisters, Viola Erlinger, Shirley Dalton and Helen Ruth Eaton. Also, four brothers, Murrill Eaton, Melvin Eaton, Alva Eaton and Dale Eaton.
Zetta was a member of the Nameoki Methodist Church of Granite City, Illinois. She was a member of: The Gateway Senior Circle; Lydia Circle; Missionary Group Spouse Support Group and the Collinsville Christian Womens Connection.
Survivors include: two daughter, Valencia (Steve) Novosel, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Glendine Mell (Michael Lindvay), of Garrett, Indiana. Three Grandchildren, Angela (Mike) ‘Novosel’ West of Glen Carbon, Illinois; Anne (Rob) ‘Lindvay’ Havlovich, of Chantilly, Virginia and Mick (Emma) Lindvay, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Five Great-Grandchildren: Steffen, Garrison and Ashlin West; Kennedy and Michael Lindvay. Also surviving are a number of other family members and friends, including good friend, Millie Clements.
Visitation Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington. Visitation resumes Thursday, 6:30 a.m. and funeral Thursday, 11:00 a.m., December 10, 2009, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Tim Pate officiating.
