Dennis R. Currington

Dennis Ray Currington, formerly of Farmington, passed away December 1st, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV., at the age of 64.  He was born on May 23, 1945 to the late Lindell T. and Kathryn A. (Meyer) Currington.

Dennis (Denny) attended St. Paul Luthern School and Church in Farmington, where he was confirmed in 1959.  He was a graduate of Farmington High School with the class of 1963, where he was very active in sports and honor society.  He went on to attend Flat River Junior College, Colorado State, and Missouri University in Columbia, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration. 

Denny entered the U.S. Army in March,1968 and served his country in Vietnam.

On May 8, 1971, he married Janet Woodruff of Dexter, MO.  They lived mostly in Las Vegas and San Diego, California.  He worked in the banking industry.

Denny was an avid fan of auto racing steming back to his  high school days.  He loved vintage and Datsun racing and when his health started failing, his other passion, photography, took over.  He took hundreds of racing photos for famous drivers and displayed them on his web-site “Classic Racing Photos”. 

He is survived by his loving wife, of 38 years, Janet, one brother, Gary (Joyce) Currington of Fenton, one sister, Carol Faircloth of Farmington, special aunt and Godmother, Nadine Giessing of Farmington, and by neices, nephews, and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Salvation Army Tree of Lights or to the St. Paul Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, in Farmington.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
