Theola Jean Wilson

FARMINGTON — Mrs. Theola Jean Wilson, 88, passed away December 8, 2009, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. Jean was born on August 12, 1921, in Anna, Illinois. She is preceded-in-death by her father, Edwin A. Erlbacher; her step-mother, Grace Erlbacher Dace; her husband, John J. Wilson; and infant twin daughters: Mary Joanne and Mary Janine Wilson.

Jean was raised by her grandmother, Emma E. Erlbacher. Jean was united in marriage to John J. Wilson on December 24, 1939. Jean was a Girl Scout Leader for 37 years and a 4-H Leader. Jean was an accomplished ceramic artist and teacher and a member of the Arts and Crafts Guild.

Survivors Include: four children, John E. “Corky” (and Nancy) Wilson, of McClure, Illinois; Patricia L. ‘Mrs. Duwane’ Williams, of Farmington; Jeanne E. Johnson (and Kenneth Dunlap), of Caledonia; Jerry W. (and Beverly) Wilson, of McClure, Illinois. One Sister, Joyce ‘Mrs. Charles’ Blattner, of Cape Girardeau. Two Brothers: Jerry (and Ciss) Erlbacher, of Cape Girardeau; David (and Ricki) Erlbacher, of Cape Girardeau. Also surviving are Eight Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren and One Great, Great-Grandchild.

Visitation starts Saturday, December 12, 1 p.m at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington, with a funeral service to be held Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Rocky Good officiating. Visitation will then resume after the funeral service until 6 p.m. Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2009, 2 p.m. at the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Jean’s husband, John, was cremated when he passed away. His cremains will be interred with Jean. Memorials may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
