Firefighters keep car fire from spreading

Firefighters were able to keep a car fire from spreading to a nearby trailer Saturday morning.

Big River Fire Chief David Pratte said a car was on fire next to a trailer on Easy Street north of St. Francois State Park. He and another firefighter were able to pull the car away from the trailer before other firefighters extinguished the fire.

He said there was light damage to the side of the trailer.
