Chesley White Jr.
MAGNUM, OKLAHOMA — Chesley Aaron “Butch” White Jr. age 66, won his battle with lung cancer and went to be with his Lord on December 15, 2009 at Magnum, OK. He was born on December 21, 1942 in Bonne Terre, MO, the son of Chesley Aaron White Sr. and Irene Williams White.
Butch was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Patsy Sue Halcomb on November 23, 1963 in Altus, OK.
In 1969 Butch went to work for the Altus Fire Department retired in 1994 as Assistant Fire Chief.
In 1972 Butch went to work part-time for Lowell Funeral Home. In 1994, he went to work full time at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and moved to Mangum to manage Greer Funeral Home for the Lowells
He belonged to many organizations including American Legion Post 121, the Chamber of Commerce, Granite Lions Club and was a 32nd degree mason.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mangum serving as Lay Leader, Head Usher and Sunday School Teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chesley and Irene White.
Butch is survived by his wife, Patsy; sons David and Mike White; 3 grandchildren; brother Marvin White; 2 sisters, Carolyn LaChance and Darlene Hurtgen; and many other relatives and friends.
