Vera Bales
BONNE TERRE — Vera Bales, 99, of Bonne Terre passed away December 15, 2009 at St. Joe Manor. Vera Bales was born November 23, 1910 at Bollinger County.
Preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Maude (Riggs) Thompson; also her husband, Alfred Bales and sister, Vivian Pritchett.
Survived by son, Fred Bales and wife Mary of Park Hills; grandchildren, David Bales and wife Stasha of Park Hills, Diana Russell and husband Rick of Park Hills; great grandchildren, Ashley Russell, Kevin Bales, Lynsey Russell, Brad Bales; great-great grandchildren, Erick Madden and Parker Whitson; niece, Sharon McManaway raised in the home; sister, Violet Bradley of St. Louis; Brother-in-law and wife Alvis and Hilda Bales. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
She was a member of the Elvins Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home after 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Services for Vera Bales will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Clinton. Burial at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Elvins Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice Care, Inc.
