Emma Gertrude Grindstaff

Emma Gertrude Grindstaff, 92, of Patton, Missouri, died December 25, 2009 at the Claru Deville Nursing Home in Fredericktown, Missouri.

She was born Dec. 31, 1916 at Patton, daughter of Henry Floyd and Minnie Moyers Aslinger.

She and Zack Billie Grindstaff were married Feb. 16, 1935 and he died Jan. 18, 1997.

Mrs. Grindstaff was retired from the shoe factory in Fredericktown, a member of the Post Oak Congregational Methodist Church, the Busy Bee Extension Club, Chairperson for Bollinger County Council on Aging, a board member of the SMTS bus transportation for the elderly. 

She and Zack helped to collect funds from North Bollinger County to start the Hickory Hills Apartments in Marble Hill where she served on the board for 15 years.  She was a member of the Happy Old People Senior Citizens Club of Patton-Sedgewickville and had served on the Silver Haired Legislature for one year.

Survivors include; one brother Harold Aslinger of Patton.

She is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and six sisters.

Funeral service was held December 28, 2009 at the Liley Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Donald Sander officiating.  Burial  was at the Post Oak Church Cemetery near Patton.
