William L. (Bill) Conway

ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — William L. (Bill) Conway Age 75 passed away January 6, 2010 in Asheboro, North Carolina. Born January 22, 1934 to Marvin L. (Buck) and Dorothy E. Conway in Saint Paul, Missouri.

Bill graduated from Esther high school in 1951. He attended Flat River Jr. College for two years. In 1953 he enlisted into the U.S. Army, retiring in 1973 with 20 years of service with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. After retirement Bill and his wife Tabby and daughter Summer Ruth moved to Springfield, Missouri where he owned and operated a shoe store. In 1987 Bill and Tabby moved to Hyden, Ky.

For a number of years he worked as a reporter for the local newspaper there. His wife Tabby preceded him in death in July 2009, they were married for 50 years. His plan was to move to Asheboro, NC to be near his daughter Summer, where he was at the time of his death. Surviving Bill is his daughter Summer Ruth Poupore of Franklinville, NC and his brother Robert G. Conway of Roy, Utah.
