Air Quality Committee meets

Chairman Albert Fults has called a meeting of the Air Quality Committee for Friday at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall in Perryville. Lunch will be provided.

The immediate trigger for this meeting is the announcement that EPA is moving forward with their reconsideration of the 8-Hour Ground Level Ozone standard – the standard that was promulgated in March, 2008. While details are still to be determined, EPA will be establishing the 8-Hour Ground Level Ozone standard in the range of 60 to 70 parts per billion (PPB) as opposed to the existing standard of 75 PPB.
