Upcoming local sports events

Local sports events will be announced in the Daily Journal on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday for two weeks preceding the event. Please send an announcement of your upcoming event to the sports department no sooner than three weeks before the event or its registration deadline by either phone (573) 431-2010, FAX (573) 431-7640 or drop it off by person at the Daily Journal office in Park Hills.

Basketball Players Needed – Now

An AAU basketball team is in need of third grade girls who would be interested in playing in tournaments. For more information contact Roger White at (573) 631-5920.

Coaches Needed – Now

Anyone interested in coaching American Legion senior baseball (19u) or freshman baseball (15u) in Farmington should call Tim Wulfert at 631-8365.

Baseball Meeting – Feb. 6

There will be an informational meeting on Feb. 6 at On Deck Training Center for the Knights 10 yr. old Cal Ripken Minor and 11-12 Cal Ripken Major teams. The 10 year old meeting is at 2 p.m. and the 11-12 yr. old meeting as at 3 p.m. Call Bub McLeod at (573) 315-0057 if interested or if you cannot attend.

Baseball Try-outs – Feb. 12

There will be try-outs held for the Desloge Raiders a MACRBA Bantam League team, for baseball players ages 7-9 on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the North County Middle School gym. For information contact Shane Claywell at 747-8382 or Larry Kekec at 631-2580.

Baseball Sign-ups – Feb. 13
