Bulldogs end season prematurely
CRYSTAL CITY — The West County Bulldogs may have had plans of playing in Class 3, District 3 finals on Friday, but those hopes vanished Wednesday night at the hands of the Herculaneum Blackcats. The Blackcats (9-15), which had lost by 22 points to the No. 1 seed Bulldogs (18-10) just two weeks earlier, clawed their way to a 45-41 victory in the district’s semi-final game.
Trevor Kean led all players in scoring with 16 points, and Trever Morgan and Zac Priest both finished with 11. Herculaneum also had three players in double figures with Dylan LaBrayere scoring 13, and Andrew Harrison and Dylan Helms both finished with 11
West County will now hang their hopes on the Lady Bulldogs who will play for the girls district championship at 6 p.m. on Friday.
