James Darrell Garrett

James Darrell Garrett, 50, died April 14, 2010, at his home near Fredericktown, Missouri.

He was born January 31, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Johnny and Opal (Chunn) Garrett.

In 1996 he was united in marriage to Susan Elizabeth Winstad, who survives in Ironton, Missouri.

Mr. Garrett is also survived by a son, Johnathon Garrett and a daughter Jamie Garrett, both of Fredericktown; his parents Johnny and Opal Garrett of Fredericktown; a half-sister, Doris of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Mr. Garrett was retired from General Motors, where he worked at the St. Louis and Oklahoma plants. He was a member of the UAW Local 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and enjoyed working on his property, caring for his animals, four-wheeling and fishing, but most of all he loved caring for his children.

He was of the Baptist faith.  Services were held April 17, 2010 at Wilson Funeral Home, with Brother Randy Sawyer officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery near Fredericktown.

Pallbearers were: Don Autry, Guy Autry, Kevin Autry, Brian Garrett, Dennis Garrett and Brandon Garrett.
