HospiceCare holding memorial service
Each year HospiceCare, Inc. hosts a memorial service to commemorate their deceased patients. This year’s service will be at 2 p.m. July 11 in the North College Center on the Mineral Area College campus.
The service will focus on patients who passed away between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010.
The ceremony is HospiceCare’s way of remembering and honoring not only the patients who have impacted their lives, but also the families who have allowed their staff to share precious time with their loved ones. One by one, the names of patients will be read aloud to attendees.
The annual service is not only for HospiceCare families.
“Anyone suffering through grief and loss issues could benefit by attending this service,” said Gayla Roberts, Director of Bereavement. “Sharing time with others who are walking the same path sometimes helps to lessen one’s own grief.”
HospiceCare staff will also be in attendance to participate in the service as well as renew acquaintances. Family members are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to display on a memory board.

Established in 1989, HospiceCare, Inc. is the area’s only free-standing, not-for-profit hospice and is dedicated to providing excellent palliative medical, nursing, social, spiritual and bereavement services to people with a terminal illness and to their loved ones.
