Road, bridge tax passed by voters

The new half-cent road and bridge sales tax will go in effect April 2011. The Ste. Genevieve County Commission officially approved the sales tax during a recent meeting after voters approved it on Aug. 3.

The commissioners have said county road improvements will be prioritized in relation to the county road plan. The plan takes into account traffic count, road maintenance costs, number of households on a roadway, and other factors.
