The Cub-Arama Countdown

JP’s Midwest Cub-Arama is only four weeks away!  As this year shapes up to be the biggest to date, there are many items for everyone to take part in.  This year we celebrate the ninth anniversary of the tractor show, but always try to add something new.  The 2010 show dates are Thursday, September 23 for the set up day and Friday & Saturday, September 24 – 25 for two fun filled show days.  The show will once again be in the Jaycee and Priest parks in downtown Fredericktown.

In the beginning, the Cub-Arama Tractor Show was a show for International Harvester (IH) and Farmall Cub and Cub Cadet Tractors only.  After we opened the show up to all models of IH tractors and vehicles as well as any of the other fine items that International Harvester produced like implements, refrigeration, dairy, tools and toys you never know what kind of amazing displays you may find.

Last year Cub-Arama proudly hosted 226 IH tractors and vehicles from 18 States and Canada!  Folks came into our area from as many at 1500 miles one way.  The tractor show seems to be growing every year as many new faces join us.  This year looks to be no exception with numerous participants already registered.

Each year we try to add something new and to incorporate more of the community into the show.  We have put on a tractor parade each year, started tractor cruises around town that stop at local business, try to publicize a citywide yard sale and Pickin in the Park as well as invite everyone to check out all the happenings in the park.   This year we are going to try a Tractor Poker Run.  Any business that would like to host a “pit stop” please give us a call.  This is a great way to get folks into you business or organization.

We are always open for more ideas.  If your business or organization would like to publicize themselves with store sales or promotions, we can give this information to all participants, or if you contact us soon we could incorporate this into the souvenir show booklet.  Again, just give us a quick call.

Cub-Arama is always pleased to help other local groups in fund raising activities.  Cub-Arama is a great place to give support right here in our own town.  All concession stands are local groups as boys and girls scouts, relay for life and Madison Co. thrift store.  There will also be other stands this year you can check out.

Over the next few weeks, as fall begins, we hope you remember that the tractor show is on its way as the bright red banners around town go up and show posters start adorning store windows.  Make your plans to enjoy yourself, support this great local event and show your Farmall Pride.
