Accident takes life of Potosi man
Potosi man was killed Monday when his 1996 Ford F-250 overturned several times in Washington County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Gilbert M. Rains, 42, was eastbound on Missouri 8 at 11:10 a.m. when he failed to maintain a proper lookout. He exited the road to the left, overcorrected, and the truck went off the right about .3 mile west of Jordan Road, overturning several times. Rains, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Damage to the vehicle was listed as moderate.
