Miller to speak at First Baptist
Noted author, artist, professor and preacher Calvin Miller will speak at a two-day conference on prayer and personal spirituality on Sept. 18-19, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Farmington, located at 210 North A Street.
Conference times are Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Miller will preach in the Sunday morning worship services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The church welcomes guests to the conference and there is no charge.

Miller was the founding pastor of Westside Church in Omaha, Neb., where he served for 25 years. He has been professor of communication and ministry studies, and writer-in-residence at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Tex. He has also been professor of preaching and pastoral ministry at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Ala.
The author of more than 40 books of popular theology and inspiration, he has also published poetry and articles in Christianity Today, Campus Life and Leadership Journal.
