Workforce works to add food to pantries
As one of the regions largest employers, Workforce Employment Solutions announced today a plan to donate $10,000 in food products to food pantries in six communities.
“Each year we try and do several regional events to thank the communities that have supported us for the last 16 years” said Joe Rozier Vice President of Workforce. “We have more than 1,500 employees working each week throughout the region. We want to capture the energy of that many people to provide a much needed service in our communities.” The company plans to make a donation for every hour worked by Workforce associates from October 15 through October 30th. “We believe the goal of $10,000 in food products is very attainable and one that will make a difference.”
“We have been very fortunate and wanted to do something internally that would make a difference throughout the region,” said Marlene Brockmiller, President of Workforce. “We want our staff to be proud of the company they represent and know how important our communities are to our success.”
Workforce has already received notes of interest from several area employers who are either instituting the same program or who want to give a monetary donation to the cause. Food items will be delivered to the food pantries in Farmington, MO; Ste. Genevieve, MO; Perryville, MO; Cape Girardeau, MO; Carbondale, IL; and Winfield, KS the first week of November. Anyone interested in joining the effort can contact Joe Rozier at 573-701-2359 or Marlene Brockmiller at 573-760-2570.
