Hunter Education Course To Be Held In October

The Missouri Department of Conservation, in conjunction with the Black River Electric

Cooperative will sponsor a Hunter Education Course in October, 2010. 

The course will be held at the Black River Electric Co-Op in Fredericktown on October 5-7, 2010.  The course will be offered from 6-10 p.m. all three nights.  Students are required to attend the course in its entirety.  They also are required to pass an exam at the end of the course in order to receive certification. 

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Heritage Card from the Missouri Department of Conservation. This card will have the student’s personal information and Hunter Education Certification Number. Missouri Hunter Education Certification is accepted in all 50 states as well as the Canadian provinces, and is a lifetime certification.

Students must be at least 11 years of age in order to participate in the course. Pre-registration is required.  Please call the Missouri Department of Conservation Regional Office in Cape Girardeau at 573-290-5730 to pre-register or if you have questions. 

Do not call Madison County Conservation Agent Scott Bumgardaner to pre-register. Do not call Black River Electric Cooperative for information or to pre-register.

There is a limit of 40 students for this class so early registration is recommended. Persons attending the course should bring a pencil, copy of birth certificate, and social security number, as well as any previously purchased hunting and fishing permits they may have.
