Lady Raiders claim first MAAA win with exclamation mark

BONNE TERRE — The North Lady Raiders opened up conference play on Thursday by hosting the Fredericktown Lady Cats, and after two games nothing was settled, but in game three the Lady Raiders put their game in high gear to defeat the Lady Cats 25-18, 22-25, 25-12.

Brittany Collins accounted for 11 of North County’s points with her kills. Mikayla Barlow had six kills, and Jenna McGraw had five. Rilea Huff made 24 assists for the Lady Raider attackers.

Alison Parks served 19 points, and Shawna Parmeley made 20 digs with Kylie Dement making another 18.

The Lady Cats were led in kills by Sam Coonce, Courtney Tinnin and Callie Branum all with three kills each. Teri Shoemaker made 14 digs, and Tinnin made 12 assists and led in service points with seven including three aces.

North County is now 9-8 and will host Arcadia Valley on Monday, Fredericktown (3-14-1) will host Cape Central on Monday.
