Louis R. Johnson Sr

Louis R. Johnson Sr., 70,  of Fredericktown, Missouri, died September 28, 2010 at the family home.

He was born May 26, 1940 in Johnsonville, Tennessee, the son of Joseph Edward and Linnie (Russell) Johnson.

On August 4, 2003 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee he was married to the former Donna Clements, who survives.

Mr. Johnson Sr. is also survived by children and step-children including: Louis Johnson, Dawn Kinnikin, Daryl Mayer, Marty  Clements, Laura  Conley and Billy  Johnson; 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe Johnson; one sister, Virginia Kalthaler; and one step-son, Robbie Clements. 

Mr. Johnson Sr. was a former UAW worker having worked 31 years for the Chrysler Corporation in the Fenton, Missouri area. He retired on April 30, 1999.

He had professed his faith in Christ as a teenager and had most recently, been attending Buckhorn Baptist Church in Madison County.

For many years was a member of Valley Park Masonic Lodge # 629 and the Order of Eastern Star, Kirkwood Chapter # 358.

Mr. Johnson Sr. greatly enjoyed camping at Clearwater Lake, attending bluegrass festivals and having bluegrass jam sessions in his home with his family and dear friends.

Services were held October 1, 2010 at Follis and Sons Chapel with the Reverend Patrick Singleton and the Reverend John Schlager officiating.

Burial was on October 2, 2010 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington, Missouri.
