Charges dropped against Mayes

The St. Francois County charge filed against Michele Mayes has been dropped, according to The Mountain Echo.

Mayes, who had a bonding business in the area, had been charged with stealing. Her attorney, Terry Flanagan, reported recently that the charge was dropped.

The St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office could not comment on the case because it is now a closed case.

Mayes was accused of failing to report some of the bonds she wrote and failing to pay a portion of money that exceeded $25,000 to the bonding company. She is no longer facing that charge.
