Filing continues for April election
Several candidates have filed, for the offices in the April 5, 2011 General Municipal Election.
Filings opened Dec. 14, 2010 and will close at 5 p.m., Jan. 18. Madison County Clerk Donal Firebaugh said he will certify the filings Jan. 25.
The R-1 School District has three openings on the Board. Incumbent Patrick Martin, Bryan Carver, Wanda Tesreau and Paul Hale Jr. have filed for those openings. Each opening has a three-year term.
Two openings are up for election on the Madison County Ambulance District. Both are three-year terms. Henry Vincent has filed for District II-Marquand precinct and Phyllis McDowell has filed for District V (Wards I and II) in Fredericktown.
The Madison Medical Center Board of Trustees has one five-year term open. No filings have been reported.
The Marquand-Zion R-VI School Board has three openings. All are three-year terms. Only Incumbent Amber McCutcheon has filed for re-election at press time Tuesday, January 4.
The City of Fredericktown has three positions on the Board of Aldermen up for election. Incumbent Paul Brown has filed for Ward I. Incumbent Rick Polete has filed for Ward II. Incumbent Richard Walts and former alderwomen Karen Wright and Fay Shrum have filed for the opening in Ward III.
The city also has three years left on a four-year term for the City Marshall’s office. John Wright has filed for City Marshall. One year is left on the unexpired two-year term for City Collector. No one had filed for City Collector as of press time.
The City of Marquand has two positions for alderman–Ward I and Ward II–up for election. Both are two-year terms. Michael Winder has filed for Ward I in Marquand. No one has filed for Ward II in Marquand as of press time.
The Madison County Health Department has two Board of Trustee positions up for election. Angela Souden has filed for a position on the Board.
For the Cobalt Village Board of Trustees, Roberta Francis has filed.
