Dicus hits game-winner for Potosi

POTOSI — Senior forward Emilee Dicus knocked down the decisive mid-range jumper in the closing seconds, and Potosi escaped a tight conference opener with Central for a 47-45 victory on Friday night.

Dicus finished with a game-high 23 points, and Potosi (10-4) started strong with a 15-4 lead through one quarter. Ashley Thompson scored seven points while Jordin Govero and Kelsey Fitzwater had six each in the victory.

Central responded with a 19-6 scoring edge in the second stanza to lead 23-21 at halftime.

Taylor Friend paced the Lady Rebels with 18 points. Riley Owens scored 10 and Briley Merritt added nine.
