Mayberry is new chief jailer
Kathy Mayberry has been named chief jailer at the Iron County Sheriff’s Department.
Iron County Sheriff Roger Medley, who was elected on Dec. 15 following the death of Sheriff Allen Mathes, said a chief deputy will be named soon.
He told The Mountain Echo that only two deputies quit after he took office – James Mayes and Tim Morris. Both have been replaced since then.
He said the sheriff’s department will have a website soon to assist citizens by giving them information on sex offenders, carry conceal weapon information, report filing procedures, jail visitation rules, etc.
