Candalaria to teach Conversational Spanish
PARK HILLS — Growing up in El Paso, Texas, on the border of Mexico, Margie Candalaria had ample exposure to the Spanish language. In fact, her mother had been born in Mexico and her father’s family was from Spain, so Spanish was the primary language spoken in the home of her youth.
With a brother residing in Spain and her love for travel, Candalaria enjoys keeping her language skills sharp.
For 33 years Candalaria taught in the parochial schools and worked as an administrator until her retirement. Since then, she has taught Spanish part time, both in the parochial schools and through Mineral Area College’s Continuing Education Department.
Candalaria will teach Conversational Spanish for beginners on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 22 through March 9. She will also teach a Conversational Spanish Level 2 later in March.
For more information or to register for Candalaria’s class, call Mineral Area College’s Continuing Education Department at 573-518-2342.
