Firefighters battle garage fire in Bonne Terre

BONNE TERRE – Firefighters battled a three-bay garage fire in Bonne Terre Sunday afternoon.

Bonne Terre Fire Chief Chris Thurman said the detached garage at 110 Pointview Drive next to an in-home daycare was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. 

There was also a pop-up camper, an ATV and tires that were stored in the garage. They were able to get the fire under control within 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported. 

They were assisted by firefighters from Desloge, Lake Timberline, Park Hills, Lake Timberline and the St. Francois County Ambulance District.

Fire officials believe the fire started from trash that had been burning in a barrel nearby.
