Lady Cardinals win at Moberly
MOBERLY, Mo. — The Mineral Area women’s basketball team overcame an early shooting slump with a stronger second half, and defeated Moberly 66-53 on Saturday to collect its third Region XVI victory.
Briannica Tye totaled 11 points with six assists while Hanna Vette and Molly Barnes netted 10 points each for Mineral Area (13-13), which stretched a 21-18 halftime lead by making 15-of-19 free throws.
The Lady Cardinals will play three of their last four regular-season games at home, beginning on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against Forest Park.
Lauren McKinnis scored 11 points and Ashley Stevenson grabbed 12 rebounds for Moberly.
