Knightettes begin soccer season with victory

FARMINGTON — Freshman Taylor Sancegraw netted a 25-yard free kick nearly 30 minutes into the action, and the Farmington girls soccer team defeated De Soto 2-0 in Monday’s season opener.

Emily Mosier also scored for the Knightettes (1-0), who controlled the contest with a primary lineup containing three freshmen and one sophomore.

Starting keeper Haley Roberts and Rebecca Sutherland combined to make four saves in the victory.
