Quail and Jackie McFarland are lifelong residents of the Lead Belt and are well known in the sports community. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November 2010.
Quail worked 26 years for Pepsi Cola bottling company and he was a fast pitch softball pitcher for the Pepsi team for many years. He later worked and retired from Central R-3 Schools.
Jackie, a homemaker, babysat in their home for numerous families for many years. She later went to work for Handicraft in Bonne Terre where she retired.
Together, they raised four children and currently have six grandchildren.
Quail volunteers his time teaching the art of fast pitch softball to young girls and teams and (at the age of 76) has been known to still zing a fastball or throw a change-up that would impress any umpire, teammate or fan!
Quail and Jackie can be seen in the cheering section of local girls’ softball, basketball, and volleyball games.
They reside in Holiday Shores, just outside of Bismarck.
