Chamber reschedules annual golf tournament
Once again, rain — or the threat of bad weather — resulted in postponement of the Park Hills – Leadington Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chamber Golf Tournament.
The bad news is, it has happened often in the past several years. The good news is, the delay gave additional golfers a chance to participate.
The 12th annual tournament was rescheduled to Friday at the Terre du Lac Golf Course. Registration was extended through Wednesday. The charge to sponsor a hole was $100.
The 18-hole, four-person scramble tournament is a fundraiser for the chamber. Cost per team is $300 and cost for singles is $75 per person. The charge covers greens fees, cart rental, dinner, drinks and prizes for first through third place. Optional charges include $5 per hand for a poker run and $10 per team for a ball toss.
The Poker Run involves players collecting cards at several locations on the course to win a money prize. The Ball Throw provides certain opportunities along the course for frustrated golfers to pick up their ball and throw it to give them added distance or to let off some steam.
For more information, contact the chamber at 573-431-1051 or send an e-mail to phlcoc@sbcglobal.net.
On site registration will start at noon, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner and awards will take place at the end of the tournament.
Turner Chevrolet Cadillac Company Inc. is sponsoring the Hole in One prize.
