MAC basketball receives post-season honors

PARK HILLS — The Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals finished their basketball season March 4 in a Region 16 semi-final game with a record of 16-16, but since then some of the  Lady Cardinals players have received some special honors.

Mac’s 5’3 point guard Briannica Tye was selected as Honorable Mention to the NJCAA All-American team, and Tye and sophomore Hanna Vette and were named to MCCAC All Conference first team.

Sophomores Emily Brummitt and Devonna Smith signed recently with the University of Missouri-St. Louis to continue their basketball playing days.

Preparing for next season, the Lady Cardinals have added to their ranks with Coach Gary Koch signing eight new players.

Signing from Missouri high schools are Erin Littrell from Farmington, Caroline Fister from Poplar Bluff, Chelsea Pannier from Cape Central, Angela Randall from North Tech in St. Louis, Jerica Wheeler from Kennett, and Robniesha Wood from Hazelwood East.

Signing from other states are Nathalie Felipe from Miramar, FL., and Brittany Lawson from Cheyenne, WY.
