Marie Smith

FREDERICKTOWN — Marie Smith, 72, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her home in Fredericktown, Missouri. She was born on June 11, 1939 in Knob Lick, Missouri, a daughter of Theodore Kenneth and Goldie Marie (Clark) Walker. She was united in marriage to Maurice Ronald Smith who preceded her in death on June 3, 2000; she is also preceded by her parents, son, Steven Smith; brother, Dale Walker; sister, Ruby Clubb.

Those surviving include: Two sons, Dewayne Smith of Fredericktown, and Marty (Gayla) Smith also of Fredericktown; one daughter, Tammy (Mike) Ward of Fredericktown; one brother, Kenny Walker of Fredericktown; two sisters, Brenda Homan and Linda (Ronnie) Cooper of Fredericktown; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    Ms. Smith attended Mine LaMotte High School; she was a homemaker and a babysitter for many children in the Fredericktown area. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants, reading, playing bingo and going to the casino.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown at a later date.
