Howard Dean Qualls

BONNE TERRE — Howard Dean Qualls, age 84, of Terre Du Lac formerly of Desloge passed away August 6, 2011, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington.  He was born June 26, 1927, in Desloge, Missouri.

He was a member of the Park Hills Presbyterian Church; He was a retired Insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company; a member of the Masonic Lodge – Elvins Ionic #154 AF & AM; A veteran of the Merchant Marines; He was an Avid Bow Hunter, Fisherman, and Gardener.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. and Jessie Mae (Rock) Qualls; three Brother-in-Laws; two Sister-in-Laws; Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn M. (Coppedge) Qualls;  Son, Dwain Qualls and wife Barb of Desloge; Daughter Linda (Mrs. Keith) Rawson of Terre Du Lac;  three Grandchildren, Derek Qualls, Levi Rawson, and Bridget Rawson; two Great-Grandchildren, Allie and Nolan; Sister, Jarvalie (“Red”) (Mrs. L.J.)  Matter of Florissant; three Brother-in-Laws, Sherrill and wife Lil Coppedge, Guy and wife Carol Coppedge, and Gary Coppedge; three Sister-in-Laws, Marie Webb, Wanda Patterson, Connie (Mrs. Jerry) James; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at C.Z. Boyer & Son in Desloge.  Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev. Mark Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Jacque Waller children’s Fund.
