Hunters plagued by errors in Notre Dame Tourney

CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Ste. Genevieve Hunters escaped with a 5-4 win over Delta on Friday to start the Cape-Notre Dame Tournament, but their defense committed 10 errors in the tournament as they dropped the next two games 7-5 to Kelly, and 9-4 to Notre Dame’s J.V. team on Saturday.

Megan Weiler pitched the lone win for the Hunters, giving up only four hits to Delta’s batters . Erica Burney was 2-4 with a double, and Tori Yates tripled in the game.

Emily Giesler led the Hunters in batting over the three games with four hits.  Jamie Viox had one hit in each game with a double against Notre Dame J.V.’s. Burney had a total of three hits.

Ste. Genevieve will host North County this afternoon in conference action
