Lady Raiders power past AV

IRONTON — The North County girls tennis team still controls its own destiny in the MAAA title race after dropping only seven combined games on Tuesday against winless Arcadia Valley.

The Lady Raiders received shutout wins from Miranda Mayes, Taylor Weible, Amber Poindexter and Molly McBride to prevail 9-0 overall.

The closest result of the afternoon occurred in No. 2 doubles action, as Alex Perry and Weible teamed for an 8-4 decision over Kennedy Hartwig and Dierdra Renfroe.

North County (4-1) will host first-place Fredericktown on Thursday with a chance to avenge its lone conference loss.
