Rayburn Owens

MARQUAND — Rayburn Owens, 82, of Marquand, Mo., passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his residence.

He was born February 20, 1929 in Granite City, Ill.; son of George Lee and July May Lafferty Owens. He married Ada Marie Owens at Reno, Ark April 29, 1950, and she passed away on December 11, 2008.

He worked for the American Car Foundry in St Louis as a welder and a member of the Timber Ridge Church near Patton, Mo.

Survivors include: four sons; Elmer (Wilma) Owens, Doe Run, Mo.; Eugene (Brenda) Owens, George (Nancy) Owens, Robert Owens all of Bonne Terre, Mo.; a daughter, Misty Russell, St Louis, Mo.; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Steska and Rev. Jim Merritt officiating. Burial will be in the Timber Ridge Church Cemetery near Patton, Mo. Condolences may be made at www.lileyfuneralhomes.com
