Three injured in accident Sunday

A Mineral Point man received moderate injuries and two other Parkland area residents received minor injuries Sunday in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on Missouri 8 at Route P. Bruce A. Fitzgerald, 56, of Desloge, was southbound on Route P in a 1995 GMC Yukon when he tried to cross Missouri 8. He crossed the path of a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Teresa J. Griggs, 40, of Mineral Point, and was struck by the Ford.

Dwane F. Griggs, 51, a passenger in the Ford, received moderate injuries. Griggs and Fitzgerald received minor injuries. All three were taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center. All had been wearing seat belts.

Damage to each vehicle was listed as extensive.
