Meyers Celebrate 50 Years
Don and Mary Meyer of Desloge celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with renewing their vows on June 4th, 2011 at Elvin Baptist Church. They were married at the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre parsonage on June 9th, 1961. Scott and Phyllis Ferguson stood up for them in 1961 and were also present for the renewal of their vows. A reception followed the ceremony with many friends and family in attendance.
After they married, they lived in the Desloge area where they raised two daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Hulsey and Darla (Joe) Holloway. Don worked at American Commercial Terminals and retired in 1997. Mary worked at First Bank in Park Hills and retired after 24 years. They enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren (Amy Jones, Danielle Green, Jesse Holloway & Sam Holloway), babysitting their great granddaughter, Jozlyn, and are active members of Elvins Baptist Church.
