Cadet man dies in accident

A Cadet man died in an accident in Washington County Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Charles W. Mesey, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Highway 21 near Villmer Road in Washington County.

The accident was reported at 6:50 a.m. Mesey was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon north when the vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt.
