Two killed, one arrested after crash on US 67 Wednesday night

Two people were killed and another seriously injured in an accident in St. Francois County late Wednesday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Rickey Mowery, 41, of Ironton, died at the scene of the accident at U.S. 67 and Highway 8 in Desloge at 11:10 p.m.

Jackelin L. Rincon, 28, of Bonne Terre, was taken to Parkland Health Center by Arch Helicopter. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 12:31 a.m.

Jeremy W. Hansell, 31, of Bonne Terre, was seriously injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer by Air Evac.

The report states Hansell was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck Mowery’s 1991 Buick Park Avenue head-on. No one was wearing a seat belt.

Hansell was arrested and then released to medical personnel for two counts of vehicular manslaughter, and driving while intoxicated.
