Chicken dinner to benefit Christmas miracles

Two fundraisers are being held to raise money for the Christmas Miracles charity program.

The program helps three counties of nutrition center shut-ins; the alone or forgotten from some of the local boarding/nursing homes; local children’s home; injured or ill families from the nursing agencies; and a veterans hospital.

A supper and gift bazaar will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Gumbo First Church of God on Highway 8 outside Park Hills.

It will be a chicken and dumplings dinner with all the fixings, drinks and desserts for $6 or $3 for children, 5-10 or $1 for children under 5.

There will also be crafts, Christmas decorations, etc. for sale. For more information, call Barb at 573-358-0165.

The annual auction for Christmas Miracles will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at Gumbo First Church of God. Meal is at 5 p.m. with auction starting at 6 p.m.

The auction will include a lot of brand new items donated from local businesses, tools, gift cards, gift baskets, toys, household items, etc.
