Roland Lee Armer

Roland Lee Armer, 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at his home near Fredericktown. He was born Nov. 21, 1935 in Union, Missouri, the son of John and Ella (Smith) Armer.

He married Delores May Lozier, September 19, 1963, in Cahokia, Illinois.

Preceding Mr. Armer in death were his parents, brother Bob Armer and grandson Joshua Armer.

Survivors include his wife Delores of Fredericktown; sons George Shockley of St. Louis, Mark Armer of Fredericktown and Mitch Armer of Wentzville, Missouri; daughters Terry Masengill of Jackson, Missouri, Floe Armer of Pacific, Missouri, and Mary King of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Armer was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1960-1966. He retired from the Hostess Bakery Company in St. Louis. His hobbies were gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church in Vienna, Missouri.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at Wilson Funeral Home with Chaplain Sandy Ledbetter officiating. A private interment was scheduled for a later date.
