Free educational healthcare event draws a crowd
More than 300 women attended Parkland Health Center’s eighth annual Seeds of Wisdom health care event for women on Oct. 27. The event was co-sponsored by BJC Behavioral Health, BJC Hospice and BJC Home Care Services.
Seeds of Wisdom is a free educational healthcare event for women of all ages. Presenters included medical professionals as well as a professional keynote speaker. In addition, exhibitors provided important health-related information. Attendees were treated to a complimentary healthy lunch and dinner.
Keynote speaker Jaclyn Rowe was featured at both sessions. A number of healthcare professionals offered presentations including: Dr. Phillip Kintner, an obstetrics/gynecology physician at Parkland Health Center; Jeania Byerly, registered/licensed dietition at Parkland Health Center.
Donna Hickman, Executive Director of the United Way of St. Francois County, lead a panel discussion on the benefits of volunteering. Carolyn Williams, RN, Case Management Parkland Health Center, conducted a morning exercise session warming up attendees with a little Zumba.
Parkland Health Center is part of BJC HealthCare which also includes St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the teaching hospitals for Washington University School of Medicine.
