Bundle up for a Christmas show Thursday night
Bundle up Thursday night and head to Leadington or Park Hills to see the 7th annual Park Hills – Leadington Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade and tree lighting.
This year’s theme is “Christmas Candy.” Approximately 21 entries have signed up to participate.
The National Weather Service’s long-term forecast calls for temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a performance by the Central fourth and fifth graders and the Clef’s Honor Choir at Leadington Plaza. The Central Elementary second graders will perform about 10 minutes later.
Leadington’s tree lighting is scheduled after the second graders perform, estimated at 6:20 p.m. Parade line-up begins at 6:30 p.m. and the parade. At the same time, game and craft booths will open at Farmer’s Market in Park Hills. Included will be Santa’s Workshop, the Christmas Cafeteria (hot cocoa), The Lion’s Den (cookies), The Christmas Guessing Game, Reindeer Ring Toss, Holiday Ink (face painting), Candy Cane Guesses and a Candy Cane Pull.
The parade will go from the plaza down Woodlawn and Main streets to the market in Park Hills. The Central High School Swing Choir plans to perform around 7:30 p.m. at the market, followed by the Park Hills tree lighting.
